Medical Laboratory Sciences & Biotechnology

There are two entry pathways to our Medical Laboratory Sciences & Biotechnology program, depending on your final goal.

BS in Health Sciences / Pre-Medical Laboratory Sciences & Biotechnology (2+2 program)  — Medical Laboratory Sciences & Biotechnology houses three degree programs. Students in this pathway are admitted to the BS in Health Sciences / Pre-Medical Laboratory Sciences & Biotechnology pathway program at the time of initial application. After completing prerequisite courses in the Health Sciences program, they transfer to the Medical Laboratory Sciences & Biotechnology department for the final two years to complete a BS in any of the following:

• Medical Laboratory Science
• Biotechnology
• Cytology (MS only, see Dual Degree option)

BS in Health Sciences / MS in Medical Laboratory Science or Biotechnology or Cytology — Accelerated (3+2 program) —  Jefferson also offers a dual degree program that allows students to  begin their studies in the BS in Health Sciences program and move on to an MS in any of the following:

• Medical Laboratory Science
• Biotechnology
• Cytology

Students must meet the established progression criteria to maintain their seat in the professional program.
