Biography
Professor Johnson has worked in the fashion industry for over 25 years. She possesses extensive knowledge of apparel development from concept through production. This experience includes hand and computer illustration, sourcing, foreign and domestic manufacturing and aspects of merchandising. She has extensive travel experience in Hong Kong, China and Macau, liaising with manufacturers as well as European travel for R&D. As an educator, her areas of expertise include guiding students through the creative research process and sketchbook documentation, drawing, fashion illustration techniques and teaching principles of design, such as sound composition, cohesive color story, appropriateness of fabrication, and awareness of customer niche. As an artist, she is a painter and produces wearable pieces incorporating collage techniques.
