Choose a master’s degree program in:
Healthcare Quality & Safety
Combine your clinical expertise and patient care experiences with the tools and methods needed to improve suboptimal care, reduce unnecessary clinical variation, prevent adverse events, and reengineer systems and processes that impact patient experiences and outcomes. The Master of Science in Healthcare Quality & Safety degree program helps you build these technical skills as well as equip you with change management and leadership strategies to effectively lead quality improvement and patient safety initiatives in large, complex organizations.
Population Health (Management Track)
As the shift from “volume” to “value” continues, secure your leadership role in healthcare transformation by focusing on the tools and methods needed for effective population health management. The Management Track of our signature Population Health master’s degree program uses your clinical training and experience as the foundation for developing, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based population health solutions that can be deployed at the practice or enterprise levels.
Other Programs to Consider
Physicians are also moving into leadership positions in other areas impacting healthcare. Blend your clinical expertise with additional, career-focused training to drive regulatory and policy change, conduct outcomes research and economic analysis, apply Lean Six Sigma and high reliability to healthcare, or use the latest data analytics techniques to drive healthcare innovation.
Cost
SHM members receive 15% off the cost of tuition. Plus, if you have completed (or will complete by the time you graduate) at least two SHM Leadership Academy courses, the elective requirement will be waived in the Master of Science in Healthcare Quality & Safety or Master of Science in Population Health degree programs. Combine this with your employer’s tuition benefits and you could finance your education more easily than you might think.
