Choose a master’s degree program in:

Healthcare Quality & Safety (Management Track)

Combine your clinical expertise and patient care experiences with the tools and methods needed to improve suboptimal care, reduce unnecessary clinical variation, prevent adverse events, and reengineer systems and processes that impact patient experiences and outcomes. The Management Track of our Healthcare Quality & Safety master’s degree program helps you build these technical skills as well as equip you with change management and leadership strategies to effectively lead quality improvement and patient safety initiatives in large, complex organizations.

Population Health (Management Track)

As the shift from “volume” to “value” continues, secure your leadership role in healthcare transformation by focusing on the tools and methods needed for effective population health management. The Management Track of our signature Population Health master’s degree program uses your clinical training and experience as the foundation for developing, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based population health solutions that can be deployed at the practice or enterprise levels.

Operational Excellence

Researchers estimate that a third or more of U.S. healthcare spending is wasteful. System factors such as cumbersome and unnecessarily complex administrative processes, low uptake of evidence-based guidelines, poor care coordination, misalignment of incentives and penalties, and other factors in healthcare are contributing to this problem. Apply Lean thinking, process improvement, and change management to increase operational efficiency in healthcare with this program.

Health Data Science

As technology continues to offer more ways to receive data from patients, caregivers, other providers, and others, healthcare leaders need new tools and skills to collect, curate, and synthesize data into actionable insights. The future of population health improvement will be fueled by vast amounts of data that are no longer limited to the physician office or hospital medical record system. Apply the latest analytics and informatics techniques to diverse data in this first-of-its-kind master’s degree program.

Another Program to Consider

Physicians are moving into leadership positions in other areas impacting healthcare. Blend your clinical expertise with additional, career-focused training to drive regulatory and policy change and conduct outcomes research and economic analysis.

Applied Health Economics & Outcomes Research

The growth of personalized medicine and new technological advancements in diagnostics and treatment are adding additional pressure to an already unsustainable growth in healthcare spending. This program builds skills in conducting outcomes research, comparative effectiveness research, and economic/financial analysis to inform clinical guidelines, best practice standards, insurance coverage levels, and value-based reimbursements.
