The Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery & Dentistry at Thomas Jefferson University is devoted to patient care, residency education, and research. The department provides state-of-the-art care, from the reconstruction of the maxillofacial region associated with tumor surgery and trauma, to the correction of dentofacial deformaties. Other areas of expertise include treatment and diagnosis of temporomandibular joint dysfunction, implantology, trauma surgery, and microneurosurgery.

The Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency training program at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital is a four-year program with a medical degree option, or a six-year dual-degree option, MD/OMS Residency. Research is directed toward clinical trials and the study of diseases of the oral mucosa and supporting structures.
