Celebrate Jefferson’s Venice Biennale Exhibit at Design Philadelphia Festival 2025

An Invitation

After debuting on the global stage at the 2025 Venice Biennale, Thomas Jefferson University is bringing its acclaimed exhibition, Intersections: Health, Environment, and Design, home to Philadelphia as part of this year’s DesignPhiladelphia Festival.

The exhibit, presented by Thomas Jefferson’s Institute for Smart and Healthy Cities, spotlights the profound connections between health, the environment, and the built world. Through multimedia walls and immersive sound installations, visitors will engage with stories and research showing how architecture, urban planning, and design intersect with medical science to shape healthier communities.

Projects on display highlight Jefferson’s pioneering interdisciplinary research and collaborations with partners across Philadelphia and beyond. From sustainable building strategies that promote wellness to urban resilience initiatives addressing climate change, the exhibit underscores how human-centered design is redefining the future of cities. This exhibition is an invitation to explore how design can be both a scientific and creative response to the challenges of our time.”

Intersections: Health, Environment, and Design will be open to the public October 1 - 12, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Center for Design Philadelphia, 1218 Arch Street, Philadelphia, PA.

As part of the exhibition, we invite you to join us for a Reception on Wednesday, October 8, from 6 - 8 p.m., offering guests an opportunity to explore the installation, connect with Jefferson researchers and designers, and celebrate Philadelphia’s leadership at the intersection of health, sustainability, and design.
