Jeena Pressley is a graduate of Jefferson, earning a BS in Communication and an MS in Organizational Leadership with a double concentration in Human Resources Leadership and Brand Management.
Where are you from originally?
Harrisburg, PA.
What was the best part of your time at Jefferson?
The best part was getting closer to my classmates throughout the years. As a communications major, I was able to have a small group of core friends that shared majority of the classes with me. We were able to support each other and create amazing group projects.
What has having a Jefferson degree done for you?
My degrees from Jefferson have given me the opportunity to stand out in the professional world. The reputation of the school and programs are widely known. Aside from that the hands-on experience from the courses allowed me to be well rounded in communications, which allows me to feel comfortable in multiple different disciplines.
What are you doing now?
I work at The Shadowfax Corporation, an organization that supports individuals with IDD/Autism. I recently was promoted to communications specialist where I lead fundraising campaigns, social media, internal events and initiatives, and I work closely with our Human Resources department to offer support and expertise. I started at Shadowfax as an event and Marketing associate in March of 2025, and have enjoyed developing communications throughout the organization. I also just graduated with my master’s degree in December 2025 from Jefferson. I have a freelance media and photography business on the side - Pressley Studios!
What internships or other real-world experiences in the communications industry were you able to take advantage of as a student?
As a student I was able to intern at Select Medical which allowed me to get corporate marketing and graphic design experience. While at Jefferson, I was a player on the Jefferson Women’s soccer team but also managed social media for them for over 3 years. It allowed me to use what I was learning in my courses directly as well as build a portfolio. We produced a podcast relevant to our school and to my interests which was not only fun but a great opportunity to grow technically.
What’s something people would be surprised to find out about you?
People may be surprised to find out that I double minored in gender and women’s health studies and global studies. I am also the Assistant Coach for Eagle FC USLW team in Mechanicsburg, PA.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to our current students?
After you graduate, it is okay not to have everything figured out. I have been working for almost a year, and I don’t have a specific path I plan to follow, and I don’t know my next steps. Be where your feet are and learn as much as you can along the way.
