Clinical Adjunct Instructor
Whether you have been a part of Jefferson College of Nursing (JCN) for many years or just beginning your journey, we value the unique contributions that you bring to our students. Jefferson College of Nursing has a long history of providing exemplary and transformative nursing education.
If you are interested in becoming a Clinical Adjunct Instructor at JCN, please access the Clinical Adjunct Instructor registration link below to indicate your interest in teaching clinical. This link will give you an opportunity to tell us about your clinical teaching interests and preferences and will allow us to follow up with you in the future when we have clinical adjunct instructor openings.
A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is required and a Master's degree in nursing highly preferred. Candidates who do not have a master's degree must be currently enrolled in a master's degree in nursing program.
Documentation Requirements Upon Hire
Note: You should have these documents prepared prior to your interview.
The following documents are required at the initial point of onboarding. All documents must be received and reviewed prior to the issuance of a contractual letter of agreement.
- Current Curriculum Vitae (CV) or resume.
- Verification of Pennsylvania Registered Nurse licensures (Registered Nurse (RN), Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) etc.), and verification of New Jersey (NJ) or Delaware (DE) or compact license if teaching JCN students in those states.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Official academic transcripts for all nursing-related degrees obtained.
- Two letters of recommendation.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), if applicable.
- Professional Certification(s), if applicable.
- Completed Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing Per Diem New Faculty Hire Form — this form will be sent to you when your onboarding process is initiated.
Additional Onboarding Requirements for new Clinical Adjunct Instructors (following the application process and upon Human Resource's initial contact).
There are several onboarding requirements for new adjunct instructors that must be completed prior to beginning the adjunct instructor role.
- Physical — Human Resources (HR) will contact adjunct instructors to schedule an appointment with Jefferson Occupational Health.
- Drug screen — HR will contact adjunct instructors to schedule.
- Clearances (dependent on site) — HR will work with adjunct instructors to obtain, at a minimum, Pennsylvania (PA) child abuse clearance, PA criminal history and FBI fingerprint clearances. Jefferson College of Nursing will require copies.
- Clinical documentation education (dependent on site) — The Academic Practice Integration Team will schedule with individual adjunct instructors.
- Site orientation (dependent on site) — The Academic Practice Integration Team will schedule with individual adjunct instructors.
- Laboratory orientation (only applicable if teaching laboratory) — Course Lead will schedule with individual adjunct instructors.
- Course Orientation — Course Lead will schedule this with individual adjunct instructors.
If you are already a Jefferson Health employee, you will still need to interview and supply required documents as part of the application process with Jefferson College of Nursing.
