Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT), Center City

The Master of Science Program (MSOT) is a graduate degree program for students who have earned a bachelor’s degree in a field other than occupational therapy. The MSOT program prepares you to work as entry-level practitioner in a variety of settings. Students have opportunities to do advanced work and independent study in areas such as specialized practice, research, academic teaching, collaboration with professional organizations and entrepreneurial projects under the mentorship of a faculty member.

Accelerated MSOT (3+2) for High School Applicants

High School seniors who are committed to earning a Master of Science (MS) in Occupational Therapy have the opportunity to do so in five years after graduation from high school, through partnership with the University of Delaware.

As of Fall 2020, University of Delaware students were accepted into the BS to Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (3+3) and will enter the professional phase on East Falls campus in Fall 2024. Please refer to BS to Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (3+3).

The Master of Science in Occupational Therapy program is a two-year program comprised of classroom, laboratory, exams, and clinical education rotation.

The Master of Science Program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).

ACOTE® accredited occupational therapy and occupational therapy assistant educational programs satisfy the states’ educational requirements in all states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. Students graduating from an ACOTE® accredited occupational therapy and occupational therapy assistant educational programs are eligible to take the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification exam and apply for licensure in all states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. For more information regarding state qualifications and licensure requirements, please refer to the AOTA State Licensure webpage. Note that a felony conviction may affect a graduate’s ability to sit for the NBCOT certification examination or attain state licensure.
