The Division serves as a collaborative engine within the university and beyond. We actively cultivate and strengthen partnerships with colleagues across the Department of Medical Oncology, the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center (SKCCC), and other departments within Jefferson Health, as well as with external research institutions and health systems. These collaborations allow us to accelerate the translation of scientific discovery into real-world application, turning innovative research into practical, scalable solutions that directly impact patients and communities.

Our work is deeply informed by principles of cultural humility, equity, and community engagement. We design interventions that are contextually and culturally tailored to the needs of diverse populations, acknowledging the social determinants of health that influence outcomes across the cancer care continuum. From cancer prevention and screeningthrough treatment, survivorship, and end-of-life care, our projects aim to improve health communication, empower patients in shared decision-making, and reduce barriers to care.

Beyond the walls of academia, the Division extends its reach by building lasting relationships with community-based organizations, advocacy groups, public health agencies, and other key stakeholders. This outward-facing approach ensures that our research is both informed by community perspectives and responsive to real-world challenges, enhancing the likelihood that our findings lead to tangible, equitable improvements in population health.

As we look to the future, the Division of Population Science remains steadfast in its pursuit of innovative, impactful research that not only advances scientific understanding but also delivers meaningful health benefits to individuals, families, and communities affected by cancer.
