Dr. Mawlana worked in the Department of Built Environment at North Carolina A&T State University as an assistant professor for four years before joining the College of Architecture and the Built Environment at Jefferson. Prior to that, Dr. Mawlana held visiting assistant professor and adjunct professor at Mississippi State University and Concordia University. He served as a reviewer for several journals and conferences such as Journal of Management in Engineering, Journal of Automation in Construction, Journal of Architectural Engineering, ASCE i3CE 2019, and CSCE 2019. His research interests include operation simulation and optimization, information modeling and representation, visualization (3D, 4D, VR), and reality capture technologies. His research has been supported by Federal and State agencies such as HUD and NCDOT. Dr. Mawlana disseminated his research findings through 14 papers published in highly regarded journals and conferences, eight presentations, and four posters.
