Meet Our Student: Loganne Caka

What are you studying at Jefferson?

Landscape Architecture with a minor in Sustainable Design

Why did you choose Jefferson?

I chose Jefferson because of the welcoming atmosphere and the opportunities that were available to me. I also liked the fact that the location is in such close proximity to Center City Philadelphia.

Where are you from originally?

I am from Nazareth, Pennsylvania.

What is the best part of your studies?

The best part of my studies is getting the chance to work with other disciplines through our design studios. The landscape architecture department is also on the smaller side which means I can easily build connections with our classmates and professors. One of the most exciting parts of the design studios is the ability to explore the actual landscapes and areas that we are designing in order to have a more authentic experience.

What’s something people would be surprised to find out about you?

I also play on the Women’s Lacrosse team at Jefferson.

Tell us about a project you’re working on or award/honor you’ve recently received.

I am currently working on a project in my third-year design studio in collaboration with the graphic design department. As a class, we are tasked with developing a pollinator toolkit for the Philadelphia neighborhood of Kingsessing. This project has been a great opportunity to engage with the local community, while also building relationships with other students from different majors.
