Students must have a bachelor’s degree and prerequisite credits to enroll in the program. Students earn a BSN degree in two academic years (4 semesters) of full-time study.
Students will earn a BSN degree plus additional benefits:
The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNO) programs can be completed either part-time or full-time.
During the program, students earn 60 undergraduate credits and 9 graduate credits at Jefferson College of Nursing.
The College of Health Professions MS in Midwifery prepares graduates to provide midwifery care, including primary care of women and neonates, with an emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention across the lifespan. Graduates are eligible to earn the Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) credential from the American Midwifery Certification Board. Accelerated BSN Plus (ABSN+) - 2 Year Pathway students who successfully complete the midwifery admission/interview process are assured admission to the MS in Midwifery program following the BSN portion of the Accelerated BSN Plus (ABSN+) - 2 Year Pathway program.**
* Restrictions apply for the neonatal and adult/gerontology acute care nurse practitioner specialties. International students should take note of special program limitations.
** Progression into the Midwifery program requires successful completion of the BSN (minimum GPA may apply) and passing the NCLEX to obtain RN licensure. Due to VISA restrictions, the MS in Midwifery is only able to accept U.S. citizens and permanent residents at this time.
The College of Nursing offers undergraduate nursing programs in the Center City Philadelphia Campus and the Dixon Campus in Horsham, PA.
