Guidelines for Conflict Resolution

Dear Postdocs,

If the situation should arise that you need help with particular issues either with co-workers or your PI, please feel free to contact me. All conversations are kept confidential.

I may direct you to other individuals on campus that may be of help, including the Ombudsperson for Faculty and Postdoctoral Fellows. A description of what the Ombudsperson does and how he can help is below.

Best,
Lisa Kozlowski, PhD
Associate Dean for Postdoctoral Affairs & Recruitment

Faculty Ombudsperson

Jefferson has established the position of Faculty Ombudsperson to assist faculty with the satisfactory resolution of problems and conflicts arising in the workplace. The Faculty Ombudsperson serves as an independent, neutral resource. The Faculty Ombudsperson will maintain confidentiality unless directed by the consulting faculty member to do otherwise.

In assisting faculty the Ombudsperson may:

  • offer direct advice
  • provide information regarding available Jefferson resources
  • mediate a conflict
  • engage in informal fact-finding
