Jefferson College of Pharmacy hosts several continuing education programs. Programs will be held virtually or within the Pharmacy Practice Simulation Center located within the Dorrance H. Hamilton Building, 1001 Locust Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107.

APhA’s Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certificate Training Program (14th Edition) is an innovative, intensive, and practice-based continuing pharmacy education, based on national educational standards for immunization training from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This program is designed to educate pharmacists about the professional opportunities for vaccine advocacy and administration.
This practice-based curriculum represents a fusion of science and clinical pharmacy. The program, which emphasizes a health care team approach, seeks to foster the implementation of interventions that will promote disease prevention and public health.
The purpose of this certificate training program is to prepare pharmacists with comprehensive knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to provide immunization services to patients across the life span.
The January 30th offering of this program will be online only.
Participants must obtain their own supplies and identify a healthcare professional experienced with immunizations to assess their injection technique. Jefferson College of Pharmacy cannot provide supplies or complete the injection technique with you.
To obtain credit for "Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery" complete home study activities, complete both home study and final assessments with a grade of 70% or better, attend the live seminar, successfully complete the injection technique assessment, complete the evaluations.
Course material and exams and live webinar session will be accessed online. In order to participate in this activity, registrants must have access to a computer.

Home study activities – complete modules, home study assessment, and home study evaluation before January 30, 2026
Live seminar – join Jefferson faculty via Zoom on January 30, 2026 to complete the live seminar (all participants will be provided with a link)
Injection technique assessment – You are responsible for identifying a healthcare professional who can evaluate your technique within a week of the live seminar
Your evaluator must observe you successfully give another person two intramuscular and one subcutaneous injections and complete the Injection Technique Assessment Form (instructions and form will be provided)
Completed and signed forms must be returned to the program coordinator by February 6, 2026
Requirements to serve as the evaluator: Your evaluator can be anyone who has the current scope of practice to immunize (e.g, a trained pharmacist, a nurse, etc.).
You will need to acquire the assessment supplies on your own which include the following:
Injection technique assessment verification and final exam and evaluation – Upon successful completion of the injection technique assessment and receipt of the Injection Technique Assessment Form, you will be granted access to the final exam and live seminar evaluation. Once the exam and evaluation are completed, you can access your certificate of achievement. These steps must be completed by February 13, 2026.

The Community Pharmacy-Based Point-of-Care Testing Certificate Program provides an opportunity to gain the skills and information necessary to develop a testing program for influenza, Group A Streptococcus, HIV, and Hepatitis C. The target audience for the certificate program is community pharmacists including students, academia, and pharmacy association staff. While the program is primarily designed for community pharmacists, non-pharmacists interested in point-of-care testing are also welcome to complete the program.

APhA’s Delivering Medication Therapy Management (MTM) Services certificate training program presents a systematic approach for developing, implementing, delivering, and sustaining MTM services. It includes an overview of the marketplace for delivering MTM services, guidance for implementing MTM services in pharmacy practice, a review of the essential skills and knowledge needed for performing MTM successfully, and an organized process for identifying medication-related problems. The purpose of this certificate training program is to prepare pharmacists to improve medication use through the delivery of MTM services in a variety of practice settings

APhA’s Pharmacy-Based Travel Health Services (2nd Edition) is an innovative and interactive advanced competency training (ACT) program that explores the pharmacist’s role in providing travel health services to patients. This application-based activity is the first step for pharmacists interested in learning the essential skills necessary to successfully provide travel health services.
Program prerequisite: Pharmacists who have completed the APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery certificate training program and received a Certificate of Achievement or have previously completed an immunization training program and are authorized to provide immunizations in the state in which they practice. APhA’s The Pharmacist & Patient-Centered Diabetes Care certificate training program (5th Edition) is an intensive educational experience designed to equip pharmacists with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to provide effective, evidence-based diabetes care. Five self-study modules provide comprehensive instruction in current diabetes concepts and standards of care. The live seminar incorporates case studies and hands-on skills training focused on the situations most likely to be encountered — as well as the services most needed — in community and ambulatory care practice settings.
Participants will gain experience evaluating and adjusting drug therapy regimens for patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, counseling patients about lifestyle interventions, analyzing and interpreting self-monitoring of blood glucose results, and assessing the overall health status of patients to identify needed monitoring and interventions.
