Tips for Advisors

This page is designed for Pre-Health Advisors assisting students with an interest in pharmacy. The timeline below has been developed to fit our rolling admission process. Applicants should be encouraged to submit their applications early in the cycle in order to optimize their opportunity for admission, scholarships, and receive invitations to participate in JCP events. 

Timeline for Application

Prerequisites

A total of 72 semester or 112 quarter hours as specified below must be completed with a grade of "C" or better. Please note that all science courses require a lab. Applicants must successfully complete all course prerequisites by the start of the program.

Our Ideal Candidate

Criteria evaluated in the application process:

  • GPA: 3.0 is considered competitive, a number of additional factors are required to review a GPA less than 3.0
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • An understanding of the profession of pharmacy
  • A commitment to patient care
  • Evidence of leadership and service to the community

Early Decision Option

Students may participate in the Early Decision process at Jefferson. The advantage for the student is their application will be processed first and, if offered admission, are guaranteed a seat. Interested applicants should review the rules and timeline for this option on the PharmCAS website.
