Research

The Department of Family & Community Medicine Research Division's mission is to continuously generate and disseminate knowledge through the conduct of high quality, timely, and relevant research, especially that which enhances patient care and which impacts socially complex patients and communities. Our researchers work to address issues that impact the provision of comprehensive, population and evidence-based care, with a special focus on prevention and chronic disease management. In conjunction with community partners, we strive to eliminate health disparities and promote wellness through planning, implementation, and evaluation of interventions that impact the health of the communities we serve.

We have a strong commitment to patient-centered outcomes research and integrated community health interventions.  Equally as strong is our commitment to preparing current and future health professionals who meet the needs of diverse and marginalized populations.
