Lectures & Conferences

Professor's Rounds

A weekly case conference, led by a senior faculty member, during which a particularly challenging case is presented to the residents. The attending leads a discussion about localization, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, and treatment.

Journal Club

A monthly conference developed to emphasize the skills necessary to analyze and implement information conveyed in the medical journals. Critical articles are selected to illustrate core topics of evidence-based medicine. Faculty members assist residents in leading the discussion of the article and its contents.

Grand Rounds

The Department of Neurology maintains weekly Grand Rounds.  Its purpose is to advance the understanding of neurology and its potential integration into the clinical practice by:

  • Translating/transferring credible and relevant scientific findings and scholarly thought related to neurology into discussions that are compelling, and engages healthcare professionals involved in neurological practice, including neurologists, neurosurgeons, primary care physicians, other medical specialties, nurses, and other allied healthcare providers.
  • Provide additional opportunities for the advancement of clinical acumen and scientific principles through live patient encounters.

Morbidity & Mortality Conference

This quarterly conference focuses on actual patient cases that illustrate factors that contribute to failures in therapy and emphasizes continual quality improvement within the services at Jefferson.
