Current Research
The faculty of the department of neurological surgery are regularly involved with clinical trials, including those sponsored by NIH and DoD grants, investigator driven protocols and industry sponsored studies. Much of our research focuses on patients with emergency medical conditions, which sometimes precludes patient recruitment from outside of our exisiting patient panel. However, if you're a health care professional interested in referring a patient for potential study enrollment, or just interested in learning more about one of our trials, please e-mail our research staff.
A more complete and up-to-date list of current trials can be found by searing ClinicalTrials.gov, but some of the diseases and disorders we're currently investigating new treatments for includes:
- Cervical spinal cord injury,
- New approaches to hard-to-treat intracranial aneurysms,
- Treatments for gliomas,
- New radiation therapies for metastatic brain tumors,
- Intracranial hemmorage.
