Day 1 (Oct. 14, 12:30 - 1:30 p.m.)

Watch the lecture:

Topic: Policy + Housing

Affordable housing in booming inner-city areas has become a major issue of inequality in many metropolitan areas in the United States. As one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S., Philadelphia is facing gentrification and growing rent and home prizes in many of its traditional neighborhoods.  This session focuses on the interaction and collaboration of city government, developers, architects, urban designers and community organizations in creating policies and programs to provide quality affordable housing while fostering economic growth and ensuring sustainable neighborhoods. How can we ensure equal access to housing for all while developing and expending urban economic growth areas? How can we build resilient neighborhoods? How can technology assist in making cities more livable?
