Why a Physician Assistant?
A Physician Assistant (PA) is a nationally-certified, state licensed healthcare provider who practices under the supervision of a physician. PAs conduct physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, diagnose and treat illnesses, provide patient counseling, assist in the operating room and prescribe medications.
Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies
In our program, Physician Assistants conduct physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, diagnose and treat illnesses, provide patient counseling, assist in the operating room and prescribe medications.
Offered at three locations: Center City; East Falls, and; New Jersey
Physician Assistant Studies BS/MS Pathways
The Undergraduate Entry option is designed for students who have found their niche in health care as a physician assistant early in their academic career.

Accelerated Health Sciences BS/Physician Assistant MS
This accelerated 5-year Dual-Degree program guarantees students admission to both the BS and MS program at the time of initial application. Students must meet the established progression criteria to maintain their seat in the program.

Health Sciences BS/Pre-Physician Assistant
Students in this pathway are admitted to the 4-year BS in Health Sciences program at the time of initial application. They are not guaranteed admission to the MS in Physician Assistant Studies program. Students must later submit a formal application to the MS program and will be guaranteed an interview.

Jefferson offers several Physician Assistant program options, depending on entry point and campus of interest.
- Students can apply to enter as a freshman or as a graduate student.
- Jefferson offers three campuses, two of which are graduate-entry only.
