Jefferson College of Population Health (JCPH) has partnered with the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ® ) to prepare you for CPHQ Certification through academic coursework. Graduate level coursework allows you to reap the benefits of a graduate program. The certification exam fee is included.
In our 15 week course, you will not only learn the NAHQ Healthcare Quality Competency Framework™ but also CPHQ-certified faculty from JCPH will reinforce the concepts with dynamic discussions, exchange of ideas, and real-world scenarios. Designed for busy working professionals, the course is online and asynchronous. Providing 3 graduate level credits, the course will skillfully prepare you for the competency exam.
This sought after credential differentiates you with broad knowledge in the field of Healthcare Quality and Safety. This course will serve as a review and preparation for taking the CPHQ certification exam as well as reinforcement of the principles and concepts of Healthcare Quality and Safety.

All instructors are faculty members at JCPH who are CPHQ certified. They too have prepared for and taken the exam.
To apply as a non-matriculated student, you must complete a form and provide your most recent transcipt.
No, the exam is not part of the course. However, the exam fee is included as part of the course. By the end of the course, you will be well-prepared to take the exam.
The class size is small so that everyone receives attention and support from the instructor.

Who Should Apply?
The HQS 550 CPHQ Preparation course is for those who work in, lead or influence quality, or those who want to move into that role. The CPHQ® is the only accredited credential in healthcare quality based upon the validated NAHQ Quality Competencey Framework. It is recognized in the field, a requirement of many healthcare quality roles, and it is a portable, two-year renewal credential, meaning when you change jobs, you take it with you and renew every two years.
CPHQ® credentials have been awarded to executives, administrators, physicians, nurses, social workers, therapists, pharmacists, and people with an MPH, an MHA, or an MBA.
Certification Exam
After you complete the course, you will be ready to take the certification exam. We have prepaid for your exam and the cost is included in the course.
The CPHQ exam is administered through NAHQ. We do not guarantee passing the exam on the first try. Faculty are available to coach you, answer questions and make you as optimally prepared as they can.

If you are a current student at JCPH, you will register for the course as your elective: HQS 550.
