Student & Alumni Awards

In recognition of graduating MPH students who exhibit exemplary student achievement, based on coursework, research, and character throughout the program. Recipients are decided by Program and College leadership.

Students who are eligible must be an MPH graduate from the Accelerated, LPHT, and Dual Degree pathways. One student from each category is awarded an honorarium.

In recognition of graduating MPH students who exhibit exemplary student service throughout the program. Service beyond the required 40 hours for the Clerkship-Applied Practice Experience is expected. Recipients are decided by Program and College leadership.

In recognition of graduating MPH students who completed an extraordinary number of Clerkship-Applied Practice Experience (C-APE) hours (above and beyond the requirement), based on submitted timesheets, and/or exemplary student achievement during the C-APE. Recipients are decided by Program and College leadership.

Awardee must be an MPH graduate. The awardee receives an honorarium.

In recognition of current students in the MS degree programs who exhibit exemplary student achievement, based on coursework, service, research, and character throughout the program. Up to three students will be awarded each year. Recipients are decided by Program and College leadership. Recipients receive an honorarium. 

In recognition of current or graduating doctoral students who exhibit exemplary achievement in the areas of research productivity, scholarship, service, teaching, and awards/recognition. One recipient will be selected from each doctoral program. Recipients are decided by Program and College leadership. Recipients receive an honorarium.

The Outstanding Dissertation Award was established in 2020 by JCPH to recognize exceptional work by current and graduating doctoral students and to encourage the highest levels of research, scholarship, and writing. This award identifies excellent dissertation research and dissertations that can be used as exemplars for other doctoral students. One recipient will be selected from each doctoral program. Recipients are decided by Program and College leadership. Recipient receives an honorarium.

This award honors a distinguished graduate of the Jefferson College of Population Health (JCPH) whose professional achievements have demonstrated remarkable leadership and/or made a meaningful and sustained impact in education, research, or community service. Recipients exemplify the mission and values of JCPH through leadership, innovation, and dedication to advancing population health and improving the well-being of communities. 

The JCPH Alumni Board reviews nominations before making a recommendation to College leadership. One or more recipients will be selected. Eligible nominees must have graduated at least one year prior. Awardees will receive an honorarium and will be invited to share their career journey and insights with new graduates during the JCPH End of Year Celebration.
