Current Fellows

Simon Newsom, MD

Biography: Simon is a current HIVMA Primary Care Fellow within the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University. Originally from Milwaukee, he graduated from the Medical College of WI with an MD degree in 2018. He completed his Internship and Residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and graduated in 2021. He joined the Thomas Jefferson University faculty as a Clinical Instructor in 2021, serving as an instructor to medical students and current Family Medicine residents, as well as a faculty on the Family Medicine inpatient medicine service. He is board certified in Family Medicine. 

Clinical Interests: Simon’s interests includes medical student education, providing primary care to all ages, comprehensive HIV Primary care, and inpatient medicine.  

Personal Interests:  Simon enjoys playing soccer in his free time. When he is not on the field, he enjoys relaxing at home with his dog Buster, and spends the weekends in his garden or in his kitchen, mastering new cooking techniques. Both he and his wife Emma enjoy exploring the amazing food scene in Philadelphia.
