Current Fellows

Greta Bires, MD

Bio: Greta started her journey in sports medicine young, involved in many sports. She was born and raised in South Jersey, right outside of Philadelphia. She completed her undergraduate studies in Chemistry with a minor in biochemistry at the College of William and Mary while competing on the Division-I swim team. She went on to study medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School before completing her family medicine residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. She is thrilled to be staying at Jefferson for her sports medicine fellowship where she will be able to learn from so many amazing mentors, learn ultrasound and other procedures, and get the whole spectrum of levels of athletic coverage in one place. In her free time, you’ll find her spending time with her family walking, biking, swimming, or baking.

Michael Bozzi, MD

Mike grew up in Connecticut but fell in love with Philadelphia while attending Haverford College, where he majored in chemistry and pitched for the baseball team. He attended medical school at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and then completed his residency in family medicine here at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He is overjoyed at the opportunity to further put down roots in Philadelphia and continue his training in sports medicine here at Jefferson with so many excellent teachers and clinicians. He currently resides in the Mt Airy neighborhood of Philadelphia and when not on the sidelines can be found hiking, jogging, and playing with his wife and son.
