Women's Task Force

Established in November of 2024, the Department of Medicine's Women's Task Force was created to advance gender equity, support the professional development of women in medicine, and foster an inclusive, respectful, and safe environment. We strive to address systemic barriers, reduce gender biases, and provide resources that promote work-life balance, career advancement, mentorship, sponsorship, and mental health support for women in academic medicine. By empowering women faculty and trainees, we aim to enhance their success, leadership, and contributions to the medical field.

Vision & Mission

We aspire to have a department where women, regardless of their backgrounds, have equal opportunities for professional growth, leadership, and recognition.

A department where gender disparities in medicine are minimized, and where women are represented in leadership positions at all levels.

We want to create a culture in the department where inclusivity, respect, and collaboration thrive.

Through mentorship, research, and systemic change, we envision a Department of Medicine that not only supports, but actively nurtures the talents and contributions of women, advancing excellence in patient care, education, and research.
