Clinical Electives Course Guide

As of October 12, 2020 no International Visiting Students will be permitted to come for clinical rotations due to COVID-19 through the end of this Academic Year (May 2021).  A decision regarding rotations after this date will be reviewed in the future. This policy may change as the threat changes.

Domestic Visiting Medical students continues to be governed by the full policy listed below.  Students who apply for rotations to begin after September 28, 2020 are subject to additional restrictions and their home institution must complete the Visiting Student Exception Form during the VSAS application process.

Thank you for your interest in taking an elective at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. We accept students in their final year of training from both LCME approved schools (U.S. and Canadian medical schools) and international medical colleges that Sidney Kimmel Medical College has a formal affiliation with.

Domestic Students: Application materials must be submitted via VSAS for all for rotations starting April 2020.  

International Students: The application is available for download on our website and must be mailed or emailed to the address below.  Note: students at International Medical Schools cannot apply through VSAS:

Elective Dates and available clinical courses are available in the 2020-2021 Visting Student Clinical Course Guide. Students must adhere to the time periods set by Thomas Jefferson University.
