Options for BSN Nurses
As the nursing field changes, nurses who have advanced degrees will find more job opportunities and possibly more job security. Jefferson College of Nursing offers nurses who have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing three options to continue their education: a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), post-BSN to Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and an Entry Level Nurse Anesthesia DNP program.

Master of Science in Nursing
This advanced degree offers eight specialty options:
- Adult-Gerontology – Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
- Adult-Gerontology – Primary Care Nurse Practitioner
- Community Systems Administration
- Family/Individual Across the Lifespan
- Neonatal Nurse Practitioner
- Nursing Informatics
- Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner
- Women’s Health Gender-Related Nurse Practitioner
Choose whether you'd like to complete your MSN in as short as 15 months (full-time study, beginning in summer), or over five years.
Post-BSN to Doctor of Nursing Practice
Earn your MSN mid-way through the program by choosing from the MSN Nurse Practitioner options above, completing the American Association of Colleges of Nursing’s (AACN) Essentials of Master’s Education in Nursing and achieve national certification.
Enter the doctoral program, complete courses and a Practice Inquiry Project in a tailored plan of study, depending on your schedule and pace.
You can also complete the program in three and a half to six years, depending on the start term, pace and BSN coursework.
Entry-Level Nurse Anesthesia Doctor of Nursing
In this full-time, 36-month, on-site program, you'll provide anesthesia care during outpatient surgical and obstetrical procedures, in addition to pain relief in hospitals.
